Dr. Penn recognized for contributions to Methodist Hospital's Heidi Wilke SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) /SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) Survivor Program. (04.15.10)
Dr. Robert Penn was recognized by Methodist Health System this spring for his contributions to its Heidi Wilke SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner)/SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) Survivor Program . In 2009 the program treated more than 130 sexual assault survivors from the Omaha area, with the majority being women under the age of 25. Since its organization in 2003 Dr. Penn has served on the Team as its infectious disease specialist, addressing the health issues faced by survivors. The program continues to be the only program of its kind in the Omaha metropolitan area. This recognition was given by Methodist Hospital System in its Spring 2010 issue of CHART. CHART is an expression of Methodist's commitment to improving the health and well-being of the communities in which we live, work and play.
